MISS TEEN USA UPDATES

Friday in the Bahamas

Summer Vacation for our Miss Teen USA delegates is officially over as today is the first night of competition. The Grand Ballroom awaits as our Miss Florida Teen USA as tonight the judges receive their first look at our fifty-one titleholders. But before then it’s all about rehearsals as they hit the stage at nine this morning and didn’t look back. The show begins at 8:00pm with a meet and greet for the directors and family just afterwards. Of course we will have picture for you tomorrow right here at YOUR favorite pageant site on the internet!

Last night’s Meet and Greet took place at 10:00pm and proved to be a very popular event. Team Florida was joined by our Miss Florida USA 2008 Jessica Rafalowski who flew down to support her “little sister”. The mood of our Miss Wunderlich was great, she feels fantastic and is having “the time of my life! I am so ready to get the pageant started.” It was a lovely interchange as this is where all the preparation meets opportunity and we are very excited!

Tomorrow on the only live Miss Teen USA Report from Atlantis we will have pictures and reports from tonight’s Preliminary Pageant. The show starts at eight this evening and will be followed by a meet and greet with family and directors. Look for reports tomorrow afternoon only from your friends at Miss Florida USA.

Getting to Know Miss Oklahoma Teen USA 2008

GLENPOOL - Glenpool High School junior Taylor Gorton will compete in the Miss Teen USA pageant Aug.16, 2008, at the Atlantis Resort at Paradise Island, Bahamas. Miss Taylor 16, is the oldest daughter of Tom and Starla Gorton of Glenpool. She has two younger sisters Sydney and Hunter Gorton.

She supports and volunteers her time for several charities including Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Special Olympics, B.A.C.A Bikers against Child Abuse and Tulsa Firefighters Burn Camp. She created the organization Crown's and Gowns. She collected (with the help of her family and friends) used gowns for girls who would not have been able to experience their high school prom. She also made herself available to do hair and make-up for the participants. She enjoys pageant consulting for girls ages 5 to 12. She aids them in areas such as self-esteem, poise and interviewing skills. Taylor's girls have experienced an abundant amount of success.  At G.H.S she is a varsity cheerleader, manager of the wrestling team, member of the varsity track team and warrior spirit crew.

She won the title of Miss Teen Oklahoma USA in December, 2007, competing as Miss South Tulsa Teen USA at the Nancy O'Brian Performing Arts Center in Norman, Okla. She also brought home the outstanding interview award, as well as Miss Congeniality. Taylor's goal after high school is to attend Lyndenwood University and major in broadcast journalism and obtain a minor in business management.
