Miss Florida Teen USA Seminar Day

September 6, 2008

The soundstages of The Hollywood Production Center were packed with pageant contestants, as the eighth annual Miss Florida Teen USA Seminar Day was a big success! The day was all about getting to know pageantry the Miss Florida Teen USA way and our aspiring delegates were certainly paying attention. Up first was a meet and greet where the attendees and their families got to know one another. It was great to see the families and pageant directors there to support their young ladies. Then it was off to the television soundstages for a day of pageantry!

First up were self-introductions throughout the audience as each delegate stepped up to the microphone to let everyone know a little more about them.  Then it was time to make a group vote as this year the pageant is returning to its traditional top fifteen semifinalists thanks to a unanimous vote of the delegates. After the opening announcements it was time to unveil the competition weekend schedule to the attendees. This was lead by our Pageant Producer Mary Lou Gravitt and Assistant Pageant Director Jenna Calabrese.

We then introduced the two special guests of this year’s seminar. Up first was pageant coaching expert Judith Coffman who shared some of her expert advice with our delegates as she gave inside interview tips into this year’s state interview competition. Then it was time for a seminar break! This allowed more time for the young ladies and their families to make new friends and ask questions for the pageant staff. This is going to be such a fun year as the halls were filled with giggles and laughter.

Back to business as up next was Regalia Fine Apparel’s Cary O’Neil who took the delegates through the swimsuit and gown phases of the competition with assistance from Mrs. Coffman and several volunteer models. They spoke to our aspiring delegates about age appropriate evening gowns and swimsuits. Notes were being taken as selecting the perfect competition wardrobe was the topic.

All during the session freebees and gifts were either handed or raffled off to our guests. These prizes included various home video titles from our seminar sponsor, www.Pageantdiva.com and The Don Baker Video. The seminar day was also sponsored by Tel-Air Interests and The Hollywood Production Center. A good time was had by all but it was early to bed as Sunday had a 5:45am call!
