Pre Tape Weekend

Sunday September 9th

Looking good at 6:00am!

Beach Day!

With a schedule full of fun the final day of Miss Florida Teen USA Pre Tape Weekend began very early Sunday morning with a 6:15am call at The Hollywood Production Center. In pursuit of the perfect first light our caravan ventured over the bridge and onto Hollywood Beach. With a morning of opening introductions, water slides and our annual chicken fighting competition were a part of the Sunday festivities!

Mother Nature was not allowing for the perfect sunrise as remnants of Tropical Depression Gabriella were overhead. Rain postponed the shooting for a while so we got to enjoy watch a 5-kilometer road race on The Broadwalk. It was for charities to benefit local firefighters so we cheered on the participants. Annilie Hastey, Miss Florida Teen USA 2007 started the race before our cameras.

Once the sun came out our first destination was The Riptide on Hollywood Beach for the final opening introductions for the weekend. With thirty-two delegates complementing the tropical background of the lush Hollywood Beaches the results were beautiful!

Then it was a trip down the Hollywood Broadwalk, which is a 2.5 miles of a paved walkway that borders The Atlantic Ocean. Our destination was the worlds largest inflatable waterslide, The Hippo! The ladies had a blast as several trips down the slide in tandems and singles. They were tired but it was time for one last fun event.

The final setup of the day was our traditional contestant run into the Atlantic waters of Hollywood Beach. After being in the hot tropical surroundings a cool relief was much welcomed. The day ended with the delegates competing in a healthy game of chicken fighting. Laughter and smiles were all around as this completed one fun and totally unique weekend of pageantry, fun and games. A big thank you goes out to all of our sponsors, hosts and families who made this one special weekend!
